Rar + srt problem
After finding out great solution for bypassing 4GB limit on fat32 filesystem i decided to give it a try.
I've prepared an archive splitted to 2 rar files sized about 3GB each.
Archive was created with "store" mode and old rar naming scheme, and contained 2 files:
Showtime allows me to enter the archive and play included mkv file, when the movie starts, showtime displays summary information with the name of opened file, audio tracks and external subtitles found, but no subtitles are dislayed after that. I've checked logs (R3), and found few strange lines affecting above problem:
Video [DEBUG]: Starting playback of rar://file:///dev_usb006/Movies/A.Great.Movie/A.Great.Movie.rar/A.Great.Movie.mkv (matroska, webm)
above line is green, movie loads properly and video and audio works flawlessly, but few lines below showtime tries to load subtitles and displays in red:
Subtitles [ERROR]: Unable to load rar://file:///dev_usb006/Movies/A.Great.Movie/A.Great.Movie//A.Great.Movie.srt -- Entry not found in archive
Please take note on double slash before srt filename (with the video line, there's only one slash before mkv name).
Can it be the reason that srt file isn't loading?
Have anyone else met such problem? Is there a workaround for it?

I managed to watch the srt in mkv with a RAR.
To do so, instead of the folder in the rar file, I filed the 2 files (by selecting them and not the folder).

Thanks for the reply. I've made the rar the same way You did (just 2 files, no folders) but something must've gone wrong.
I'll make some more tests on other files then.

never used this method but wondering if there is any need the subtitle to be read from the rar... why dont you try:
movie.rar (wich included the movie)
