UPNP takes too much time to detect PS3 MEDIA SERVER

Hi,

is it just me? because i think UPNP takes too much time to detect PS3 MEDIA SERVER... the ps3 itself find and shows it pretty fast.

I have the same problem as well. The server shows up fine on the XMB but in Showtime it takes a minute or two to show up. Launching the server after Showtime will get it to show up immediately.

The developers should support PS3 Media Server because it is the only free windows UPNP server that can browse media by folders. XBMC and WMP only shows files that are added to the library.

I tried installing PS3 media server on my virtual windows machine but it always failed to download the java vm. So I gave up.

Since it's a Java based program they have the Linux and OSX versions as well: http://www.ps3mediaserver.org/

I have the same problem as well. Works fine in the XMB but not in Showtime. I end up watching trailers while I wait for it to show ;-)
