Playlists
Added by Girish Patel 11 months ago
I've already posted this in the Showtime forum but thought it would also be best to include it here.
I've just found this video on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5i3uc6ttREg
It shows a custom Showtime with a custom Navi-X plugin. It looks very good!
My question is, I understand that you can create your own playlists. As far as I can see the playlist is a list of URL's linking to files? Navi-x checks the links are true and displays the info etc?
I have all my movies on a NAS drive. I can access my NAS drive anywhere in the world from a URL given by iomega. So in theory all my NAS drive files have url's? If 'yes' could I create a playlist for the files on my NAS drive? And then it will display my movies with covers and info etc?

You need to create a PLX playlist, in which you specify
type=video URL=<the url you have for the video> name=<Title of the video> thumb=<URL to the cover> description=<Information about video>
I recommend you use the tool existing at http://navixtreme.com using an user account there, it is the official website for the playlists in Navi-X.

Thanks for this.
I found the url's of my files but they do not work for some reason. Examples are below.
Album art have a url of http://MYIP:9000/albumart/O2$805306399$1684301016$3026497239.jpg
Video art have a url of http://MYIP:9000/disk/photo/O2$805306399$1684300919$3026482745.jpg
Video files have a url of http://MYIP:9000/disk/video/O3$51$3026494221.mkv/9%20(2009).mkv
Music files have a url of http://MYIP:9000/disk/music/O1$14$744776831$3026504494.mp3/No%20Remorse.mp3
I also notice that on navixtreme.com when a playlist is set to private it gives an IP. I've tried replacing my IP with the one given but still nothing.
If I can get this working it would be fantastic but not very fantastic at the same time as I have around 600 movies so would have to manually assign a link and image!! Unless there is an automatic way to do it.
Anyhow I'll research in to this more to see if I can get this to work.
Thanks.

I think I know why it does not work. Navixtreme cannot check on my network so always says invalid url.
Do you know if there is a way to bypass the url checking? As I think once the link is being looked for from a device on my network it will work. As I just typed the address on my phone and it worked!

Don't use for now navixtreme.com, they are upgrading their servers because of that Navi-X will not work neither that tool, just wait till it is over.

Navixtreme seems to be working better now but I cannot get my playlists to work. Importing etc lets me select the file but it just disappears. I think the main problem is Navixtreme is always trying to verify the urls. Which it can't if it's not checking within my network.
I've been experimenting with bookmarks on Showtime and it will link to the file on the network with the exact url I'm using for the Navi playlist, so the links are correct.
Getting my playlists accepted without url validating would be ideal but not sure if it is possible. Unless the plugin can be made to read (and not validate) playlists saved on the ps3? Could be that be possible do you think? Or does it always have to go through Navixtreme?

Navixtreme will always check urls so there's no way to bypass. The plugin can't read local files since every plugin is runned in "sandbox" inside Showtime, what it can read are store files but I don't recommend creating them for that matter. What you can do and I do for my site scrapers is using a web hosting where you have a text file that contains your playlist and then in navixtreme in type you select plx and in the url the link for that text file, it will work.

Hi fabio I emailed you yesterday but im not sure if its the right address?
facanferff.showtime@hotmail.com
I haven't been able to access "my playlists"
me and the guys at navi-x have been trying to figure it out for the last couple of days.
rather than write out my diagnosis here is a quote of mine from navi-xtreme.com:
My navi-x is fully functional, everything works as it should.
The only thing is I cant seem to get any of my playlists to show up.
when i open "my playlists" it quickly opens and shows me nothing but the default "playlist Features" tab at the top.
I have the latest navi-x also on my laptop for comparsions on compatability, its not got an HDMI slot, nor a good graphic card, so my only option is the ps3 at the moment. All my playlists show up fine on my laptop ( my friends have even signed into my account at there house (PC ONLY) and my playlists are there!).
Unfortunately nobody I know uses the ps3 for navi-x so I cant really gage anything. I have emailed fabio, but as yet no reply there have been no posts at the support thread for 12 days, and this happened to me 3 days ago.
Here's what I have tried:
Fully uninstalled navi-x
Fully uninstalled showtime
Changed my account name/password
signed out/in to navi-extreme.com
cleared all cache/passwords (PS3)
Deleted all cookies/history data e.t.c (PC)
unplugged/replugged ps3 at the mains
Sync/unsync IP
Made my playlists (private/hidden/adultcontent/showonehome) enabled/disabledThe only other info I can give is.....
When I open "my playlists" on my ps3 a new history/favorites are created every time on my account
I really hope someone can help me, and sorry if i've seemed a pain lately.
also if anyone has any questions regarding "navi-x ps3 support" I am always willing to help
thank you
blueplanet.

I've been having a play and have created a playlist for my NAS files.
The problem I'm getting is that no movie poster etc is being displayed on the right hand side. But on one occasion artwork was displayed. The only thing was they show up small and all at a fixed size. But mainly no image is shown.

Could this help?
"imageset: URI
Added by Andreas Öman 7 months ago
For all you plugin developers out there, I've added support for something called imageset: starting with showtime 3.3.368
Basically it allows plugins (or anything) to give a list of URLs for Showtime to choose among when it is about to display an image (coverart, movie poster, etc)
The format of these URIs are JSON encoded as follows:
imageset:[{"width":168,"height":240,"url":"http://example.com/1.jpg"},"width":42,"height":60,"url":"http://example.com/2.jpg"}]
Showtime will always try to choose an image so that it won't have to scale up images unless it has to.
There is an example of how to use this in the Headweb plugin"
The files are there as they show up in the folder grid view.
tmdb works well too but somehow having this info on the list view would be great as it would take away an extra click just to see the info.
