It looks like although the episode URIs are unique, i.e. the same episodes (across multiple channels) share the same URI, the season references are NOT.
I think they might be channel specific, a real shame! Not much better than OpenTV after all.
Also the URI equivalence introduces other issues, because of the differing info and the season linking.
Might need to re-think this a little.

Update the EPG code to include text at broadcast level, removing title/desc hashing for URI and add a broadcast level linkage mechanism (series link, which shoudl be more like a standard STB). Fixes #1108.
