Description

UTF-8 code subtitles do not show properly (missing letters, distorted symbols) from version 2.99.284.g4159b onwards.

I'm using version 2.99.254.g2fc37 because it supports UTF-8 subtitles but I truly want to get access to fix and update of later revision.

The first row displays for me as:

Hãy đến Los Angeles.

This is only on my Linux machine though, have not tested on the PS3. Either way, is that what it is supposed to look like?

Thanks for quick reply! The following lines are displayed properly:

I think the problem is that there is no font capable of displaying these symbols.

I dropped the built-in font in Showtime to only rely on the system provided true type fonts.

I've been thinking of a way to add custom fonts to Showtime in a good manner. I'll think of something and that will probably fix this issue.

Could you add [Choose fonts] in Setting in order to choose between ps3's font system and showtime addition built-in font (arial unicode ms true type - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arial_Unicode_MS)

How does Sony do for all the PS3 that are currently sold in Asia ? Those may have corrects fonts in arent they ?
