SAMBA (CIFS) client

Starting from 3.3.71 Showtime has a native Samba client (ie, allows connecting to Windows shares).
By native it means that it works on all platforms and does not depend on some library on the host.

There is no support for browsing the network nor browsing shares on a host and there is probably lots of bugs left that needs to be fixed.

Anyway, to add a CIFS share in Showtime you need to

  • Goto Settings -> Bookmars
  • Create a new bookmark
  • In the URL bar type in: smb://ip.address.to.server/SHARENAME

Go back to the home menu and browse!
